Comedy Kabob, Well Done…
Monday night’s “Comedy Kabob” was a total success. Thank you to everyone who showed up to support AAI and to enjoy the comedy of Maz Jobrani, Dean Obeidallah, and Ahmed Ahmed. The event got some good reviews and notable mentions - check out the first batch of articles published this week. Start by reading the stories in the Washington Post, CQ Politics, and Roll Call, then keep going with the North Jersey’s The Record and Bob Braun of NJ Voices.
Upcoming Events…
Stay tuned to this Yalla Vote blog for the latest and greatest from our Field Organizers as well as upcoming events. AAI will be hosting a number of Candidate Nights and Issue Forums over the next several weeks, and we’ll keep you updated as new events develop. Don’t forget to keep us updated too! If you or your community are helping to get out the vote, working for a campaign, or gearing up for the election in a big way, we want to know.
Schedule Change Alert…
Link TV will not be airing “Viewpoint with James Zogby” on Thursday nights until September 11th, 2008, when it resumes its regular schedule. In the meantime, you can still see the new episodes on Abu Dhabi TV at 6pm on Thursdays, and as always, watch the episodes again on MBN, MHz, PBS, and other channels. You can now watch the entire segment with Susan Rice, Senior Foreign Policy Advisor to Barack Obama, in three parts online. Don’t forget, you can also catch up on any of the shows you’ve missed by clicking here.
Are You Registered?
Did you know that in order to vote in the upcoming presidential election you must be registered at least 30 days ahead of Election Day in most states? If you aren’t already registered, we can help; if you have friends and family who aren’t registered, we can help them too! While you’re at it, don’t forget to sign the National Declaration. Just visit our website for useful information about how to get involved, and if you have a Yalla Vote Field Organizer in your state, get in touch with them too.
